  • Your nearest passport office will be different depending on where you live. Click here to check google.

  • Although unusual, this does happen occasionally. Please tell us if your photo is rejected as soon as possible and let us know the reason stated. We will re-shoot your photos at no extra charge.

  • Yes. Make sure you let us know that you need extra cut out as the police usually require 4 or 6 prints.

  • Yes. If you have to provide different specifications or a different format, please bring the guidelines to the studio with you, and we will ensure your photographs are correct.

  • It usually takes between 5-15 minutes depending on the specifications.

  • We recommend that you remove your glasses as any glare or reflections can cause an issue with having your photo accepted.

  • Yes, you can wear your hair in any style you like, as long as it is clear of your face and eyes especially.

  • Yes, you can wear make-up, there are no rules saying that you can’t put a bit of lippy on.

  • The facial recognition software that is used in modern biometric analysis cannot recognise a person's face if they are smiling. This is also the reason why your lips need to be closed in your passport photo.

  • White is not ideal as you would blend into the white background. There are very few rules about what to wear usually but some visa photographs have guidelines. For example, Indian visas do not allow uniforms to be worn so please check the specifications. I would also avoid bulky clothing like puff jackets and hoodies.

  • It is not allowed to enhance, edit or photoshop identification photographs. If you are worried about something like a double chin, let us know and I can guide you in a way to eliminate it from your photo as much as possible with a simple posing hack.

  • Visa photo requirements and sizes are different for every country, please check the specifications required and whether or not you need a digital copy of your visa photo online.

  • We have cutters for the main 3 sizes asked for but can cut to different sizes if required. 35x45mm, 50x50mm (2x2”), and 45x70mm.

  • Professional studio photo I.D. are more likely to be accepted. Local photo booths at Asda, Timpsons, Kodak, Boots, Morrisons, and Tesco are automated and therefore have a higher margin for error. It is particularly difficult to get children to sit still in a booth and make sure they are looking in the right direction. The height of the seat in a booth can also be a problem for tall or short people.

  • A countersignatory must:

    • have known you (or the adult who signed the form if the passport is for a child under 16) for at least 2 years

    • be able to identify you, for example, they’re a friend, neighbour or colleague (not just someone who knows you professionally)

    • be ‘a person of good standing in their community’ or work in (or be retired from) a recognised profession

If your visa application needs a signature, stamp and/or date from the professional photographer, this can be provided.
